Since losing their domain as part of a 2007 patent infringement settlement, Bodog has been operating as bodoglife.com. The company re-branded and moved forward but continued to fight for their old domain behind the scenes. Now it looks like all of their hard work has finally paid off.
In April, Morris Mohawk Gaming Group (the US licensee for Bodog) announced that a settlement had been reached regarding all patent litigation. However, at that point, the domain’s return was still up in the air.
Just as people were starting to wonder if Bodog.com was ever coming back, Morris Mohawk CEO Alwyn Morris has announced that Bodog.com is up and running. All Bodog customers will now be routed back to Bodog.com, and the company couldn’t be happier.
Morris says that he’s incredibly proud to be part of this moment in Bodog’s history and that he is “Overjoyed to not only be a part of the return of one of the industry's most prestigious and recognizable domains, but to also be the driving force behind the brands operation in that market.”
After a rough patch, 2009 is shaping up to be a great year for Bodog. Their legal troubles are behind them, they’re approaching their 15th anniversary and they’ve just announced their 3 millionth sign up.
In the words of Alwyn Morris “Bodog.com is back and here to stay!"
