BETED.COM OFFERS EARLY ODDS FOR 2009 MASTERS - Author: Rob L

betED.com offers early odds for 2009 Masters

In the middle of a winter deep-freeze, PGA Golf bettors should be warmed by the fact they can bet on the 2009 U.S. Masters Golf Tournament now at betED.com.

The 2009 Masters, slated for April 6 to 12 at Augusta National Golf Club, is one of several major sporting events in 2009 that bettors can get early lines for at betED.com. Others include the British Open and the Kentucky Derby.

Tiger Woods, still ranked No. 1 in the world even though he hasn’t played since winning the 2008 U.S. Open in June, is the favorite at +175 in betED.com Masters Betting Odds.

Woods’ nemesis, Phil Mickelson, who recently relinquished the World No. 2 ranking to Sergio Garcia, is at +800 to win the Masters, while Garcia is right behind at +1200.

Padraig Harrington (+1500) and Ernie Els (+2000) round out the top five picks for the 2009 Masters at betED.com.

Woods, who’s been the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world for 525 of the last 600 weeks, left the PGA Tour after his 2008 U.S. Open win to have his left knee repaired.

With a full set of repaired ligaments, Woods has not yet set a timetable for his return but expectation is that he will reappear before the Masters to prepare for the spring and summer season of majors.

At the 2008 U.S. Masters, Trevor Immelman shot a final-round 75 to finish eight-under-par 280, three shots ahead of Woods, who’s won the tournament four times. It was the highest final round score by a winner since Arnold Palmer shot 75 in 1962. Mickelson finished third at 286, six strokes behind Immelman.

Immelman is far down the list of favorites for the 2009 Masters, at +4500 odds.

Bet the 2009 Masters Golf Tournament at betED.com.
