Ronaldo leads Brazil into Quarter-Finals at betED.com
Ronaldo did his part to make sure Brazil remains the favorite heading into
the World Cup Quarter-Finals, which begin Friday.
One of soccer’s all-time greats, Ronaldo inscribed his name into the sport’s
history books this week by scoring a record-breaking 15th World Cup goal, overtaking
Germany’s Gerd “Der Bomber” Muller as the tournament's all-time top marksman.
The strike set Brazil on the road to the Quarter-Finals with a 3-0 win over
Ghana. Brazil now faces France on Saturday, a game in which Brazil is favored
-0.5 (-180), according to
World Cup odds at

is +0.5 (+150).
Despite the achievement, Ronaldo left little doubt that his job’s not done.
“What do I want from now on?” he said. “More, more and more. I want to keep
scoring, as I still have much left to give.”
But Ronaldo’s history-making goal was not the only landmark achievement in
Brazil’s Round of 16 defeat of Ghana. Adriano’s goal, which put Brazil up 2-0,
was the team’s 200th in World Cup play.

Meanwhile, as teams prepare for the next round, some are headed home empty-handed.
Mexico again fell victim to the dreaded ‘curse of the last 16,’ as the men in
green fell at the very same hurdle at the three previous tournaments, bowing
out before the Quarter-Finals.
