DEERFOOT INN & CASINO: SECURITY OFFICER

Job Description: Security Officers are required to enforce age/access provisions within the casino, conduct patrols, perform customer assistance, respond to emergencies and medical calls, enforce the Trespass to Premises Act and Criminal Code, and liaise with Calgary Police, Fire and EMS. Good report writing skills are essential. In house and external training opportunities in security law, note taking, Pressure Point Control Tactics, and First Aid/CPR are available.
This position requires individuals to work day, late evening, or overnight shifts of 10-12 hours on a compressed work schedule with 4 days on and 3 days off per week.
Candidates must be diligent, observant, and reliable, must be physically capable of job tasks and must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing. A police clearance will be required along with successful registration as security guards though the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission. Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent required. Extra consideration will be given to candidates with post-secondary education in law enforcement, security, or police studies, current First Aid or PPCT certification, previous security experience, or equivalent experience in a customer service environment. Demonstrated ability to use computer hardware and software will be an asset.
