MANDALAY BAY RESORT & CASINO: HOTEL OPERATIONS MANAGER

Job Description: •Three (3) years experience in a major 4 or 5 STAR rated hotel resort complex with a minimum of 800 rooms.
•Managing the front office operation required.
•Three (3) years experience in monitoring, forecasting, and managing the fiscal budget and P&L required.
•Two (2) years experience supervising 20 or more employees required.
•Experience with Casino Relations, Airport Registration, and Spa Reservations preferred.
•Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.
•Technical knowledge of property management systems.
•Proficient knowledge of PC software (MS Word and Excel).
•Bi-lingual preferred.
•Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude and ability to deal effectively with guests, management, employees and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
•Able to frequently move freely about the office, sit for long periods and withstand various activities such as frequent walking, standing, bending, maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, etc.
•Work indoors with frequent cold or warm temperatures with exposure to environmental factors such as CRT fatigue.
•Able to access all areas of the facility and travel off property when representing Mandalay Bay Hotel.
•Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to Mandalay Bay standards.
•Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms.
•Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
•Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
•High School diploma or equivalent is required.
•Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

It is the primary responsibility of the Manager of Hotel Operations ( the Hotel ) to manage all operations for the front office. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Mandalay Bay policies, practices and procedures.
Specific Job Functions:
•Monitor staffing levels and ensure effective use of labor while delivering prescribed service levels.
•Ensure complaint resolution procedures are implemented.
•Review employee work schedules to balance employee needs with work demands.
•Respond to notification of unusual events or circumstances requiring mid-level management attention. Inform Director of Operations of situations that require their attention.
•Perform all front desk duties when necessary
•Respond to emergency situations accordingly.
•Ultimately responsible for all Hotel Operations.
•
Perform other job related duties as assigned.
