Job Description: Responsibilities
Support the VB/Crystal Reports based Fleet Payroll System and participate in the rewrite of this system in VB.Net.
Serve as a resource for the development and support of Fleet Personnel and Fleet Payroll reporting.
Provide production support and develop enhancements for the Manpower Analysis & Planning System using VBA, for both Shoreside and Shipboard environments.
Assist with the development of new Fleet Personnel systems, such as Performance Appraisal and MAPS-Intranet.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent technical training, plus 3 years of applicable experience.
Thorough understanding of the software development life-cycle with emphasis on system design, development and implementation.
Strong experience in VB.net, MS-SQL, and Crystal Reports.
Prior development experience using VB6 and VB.net in a client server enterprise and web enabled environment.
Prior experience developing reports using reporting tools (such as Crystal Reports, Report Smith, Reporting Services, or similar tool) in a client server enterprise and web enabled environment.
Understanding of MS-SQL Server and MS-SQL programming with experience using MS-SQL to process and present data.
Proficiency with all MS Office products, especially MS Access.
The ability to work effectively with a diverse team of IT professionals, under pressure and on multiple tasks.
Experience with Payroll and Staff Scheduling systems a plus.
