Has anyone else heard of betting on the Oscars?? Have I been living in a hole that last 22 years??

I just read this article on online...seems like fun...

Hey Rollan I'm sorry you must have lost a lot of money when Brokeback Mountain didn't win!!!!! HAHAH lol

Online Casino Bets In as Oscars Air Tonight
5 March 2006
Well the Oscars are just a few hours away and the betting fury is in full swing at the online casinos. For players who are looking to make a few side wagers on the Oscars and feel like taking a break from convention online casino games, there are plenty of sites that are taking bets and placing odds on this years Oscars. Of course the big bets at the online casino sites are for best actor and best picture but there are plenty of other side wagers being offered. Check your favorite online casino to see what kind of odds they are posting on this year's Oscars and enjoy what is turning out to be one of the most exciting lead ups to the Oscars in years.

Brokeback Mountain seems to be the favorite at many of the online casino sites that are now posting odds and taking bets on the Oscars. Capote, Crash and Munich are also favorites at some of the top wagering sites. Many online casino fans are now finding interest in the bets being made on entertainment events such as the Oscars. But it should also be mentioned that conventional casino games like poker still remain an all time favorite for fans of the online casinos.

Well not only are the online casino operators setting odds for the Oscars but it turns out one online casino in particular is try to get their hands on an actual award. Golden Palace, the online casino known for its outrageous and nutty publicity stunts, has announced that is will rent Morris Stoloff's 1960 academy award for the fee of $30,000. Said a spokesperson for the online casino: "We've been trying to buy an Oscar, but the academy's legal agreement clearly states that most of them can't be sold, so we had to think creatively."

People bet on everything on the net. I've seen Oscars and other weird stuff. There was one back a couple years ago that betted on who was going to get captured first -- bin Laden or Hussein.

Bah, those reality shows are all staged. I bet you could find the "winner" on the net even before the show ends.

For sure, you should have seen one the girls they picked for the show when I was there. This little annoying Asian chick that could shut up for a second...Everyone wanted to kill her. But hey, total reality show material.

hehe, yeah, I am. There's actually a book on this stuff... they go as far as saying that the USA never landed on the moon before. Their argument is that the computers back then were too slow to be able to launch a person into space.

I just saw V for Vendetta last night and I have a bet that those masks will be the next big Halloween costume for 2006.

One other thing I know is that we'll either see less cowboy costumes or a hell of lot more!
