just got back from my first trip to vegas. did a little playing @ a blackjack table. came out ahead $35 on $20 worth of chips so i'm happy. in all the vegas casinos there are rows and rows and rows of slot machines.... i've always wondered - what's the point??? you have absolutely no control over whether you win or lose. there is no way to be a better or worse slot machine player. basically all you can do is sit there and pump coins into the machine and push the blinky buttons. why do people do this? is it just because it's easy to sit there and push the buttons and wait for the free drinks? why would you pump $$ into a game where you have no control over whether you can win or not?

yeah i agree, i found slot machines extremely boring. for all their efforts with the blinky lights and sounds, theres really not much fun going on. supposedly there is a way to pick which machines are more likely to pay out. anyone know how? if i knew that maybe i;ll give it another try
